My —
THERAPEUTIC
PHILOSOPHY

The fact that you are viewing this page already tells me something about you: You want to feel better.
I believe that the quality of relationships is a key predictor of overall health, well-being, and life satisfaction. Here's the tricky thing- relationships evolve. I specialize in helping individuals explore past experiences to better understand how these influence who they are now and who they aspire to become.
Sometimes it's not only about finding resolution, but the feeling of unconditional support and company during triumph and hardship. This connection can transform outcomes and, ultimately, how we view ourselves. This is the foundation of my therapeutic approach.
My role is a balance of understanding you and helping you explore yourself more deeply. I’m here to guide you through reflection, challenge, and growth. We will assess what has worked, what hasn’t, and to help you re-evaluate, as many times as needed, to unearth what will bring you closer to the happiness you truly want and deserve.
I work from a systems perspective, which focuses on the many influences to our thoughts and feelings. This includes developmental and lifecycle stages, relationship transitions, trauma, and human diversity conditions, to name a few. I tailor treatment based on goals
and needs of each client/couple/family, as well as personality styles.
My therapeutic style is warm and laid-back, using a healthy dose of humor when appropriate, with the goal of challenging you in gentle and direct ways to promote movement towards
your best and ideal self.

INDIVIDUAL
~ John Muir
"And into the forest I go,
to lose my mind and find my soul"
A neutral space with a neutral person to use as a mirror to gain clarity around what could be contributing to the way you feel. It'll also be critical to help you consider how any changes you may make will impact the world you live in and build skills to manage these shifts, so that you feel more equipped to support you while also helping others know how to support you, too.
COUPLES
FAMILY
Relationships require work. Each person brings their own history and experiences that informs how they show up and what they expect. Adding a third person can help both sides re-stabilize through reflection of what people bring to the metaphoric 'table' and learning how to
work with these dynamics.
Approaching therapy as a family can be extremely effective, as it creates the opportunity for all members to learn and understand how behavior patterns are created and maintained. Family therapy can aid in increasing connection and discovering how to communicate around familial challenges while also considering individual experience, ultimately promoting the wellness of the family unit as a whole.
